The Challenge
Overseeing transport, policing, economic development, and even fire and emergency planning, means that the GLA recruits for tons of different roles, at different times and with different requirements. But thanks to one global pandemic, an imminent recruitment surge and lack of internal bandwidth, this job was about to get much harder. What they needed was a team to take the weight off their shoulders. They were in a crisis, so we got to work.
The Solution
Quite simply, we took our relationship to the next level. They made us a copy of their keys, and we embedded ourselves within the GLA. With two engage|ats project managers assigned to every hiring manager, we took control of everything from campaign structure to candidate management and communications. We got cosy, bunkered down and got to experience the inner workings of the city in a whole new light.
The Results
It worked perfectly. Together, we rode out the storm and brought in the right kind of permanent talent, with functionality and ease, across an array of sectors. What did this mean for the GLA? Well, they could move away from using temporary resources, reduce the time to hire and manage the recruitment spike in a cost-effective way.
