Our bias detection tool, Cortexter, ensures that the job adverts that you post are well written and bias free, ensuring that candidates from diverse backgrounds are not put off from applying. The tool scans your advert text and gives you a bias score from 1-100 based in 5 key bias types; Age, Gender, Jargon, Disability and Ethnicity/Culture. Each of these categories also has a score and is colour coded to easily identify the words within the text that the tool has highlighted as being problematic.

The tool helps create a sense of inclusivity within the language being used by replacing words that implicitly or explicitly exclude certain groups or people. Even avoiding jargon or vague language can have an impact as candidates will be less likely to apply for a role that they do not understand.
